Travel Medical ICU RN - $2,160 per week

About the Role

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN for the MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit in Peoria, Illinois. This role involves providing patient care in a high-acuity environment, focusing on ventilated patients, sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, and other critical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting EKG strips
• Managing arterial and central lines
• Titrating vasopressors and vasoactive drugs
• Responding to telemetry alarms and troubleshooting beyond basic care

Requirements

• Active Illinois nursing license or confirmation of application process initiation
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of ICU experience
• Ability to interpret EKG strips, manage arterial and central lines, and titrate vasoactive medications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ventilated patients
• Proficiency in using and troubleshooting telemetry monitors (Philips brand)

Additional Information

• COVID-designated MICU with primary diagnoses including sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, alcohol withdrawal, and overdose
• Team includes charge nurse, nurse aides (1 PCT to 10 patients), in-house hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7
• Telemedicine intensivist support during evenings
• Orientation includes 8 hours of Epic training, 8 hours with educators, 4 hours shadowing, and 12 hours preceptorship
• Scrubs not provided; no specific dress code
• No call or standby requirements; every other weekend work required (alternating day and night shifts)

Schedule

12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
