Travel Medical Assistant

About the Role

Traveling to the clinics within the Region to assist in coverage for call outs and vacations.

Responsibilities

• Proper intake of the patient (history and chief complaint)
• Documenting during the exam on our EMR system
• Assisting with Medical Procedures such as removing sutures, administering local anesthetic, and applying patches for allergy testing and transcribing reaction strengths
• Deliver patient education and documentation on disease, wound care, medications, and pathology reports and diagnosis
• Properly conducting prior authorizations for medications/sending medications to pharmacy as prescribed by Provider
• Schedule follow up appointments at the end of each exam
• Responding timely to messages sent by patients to you or the team (24 hours)
• Ensuring start of day/end of day tasks are completed
• Completing all duties in accordance with HIPAA and other medical regulations
• Other duties as assigned
