About the Role
The Travel Med Surg RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units, assessing patient conditions, monitoring cardiac data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Explain procedures to patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments
- Prepare patients for diagnostic tests and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean patient environment
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately
- Advocate for patients' needs and preferences
- Facilitate discharge planning and education
- Ensure infection control and safety standards
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
- Adhere to regulatory protocols and ethical standards
Requirements
- One year of recent Med Surg RN experience
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to lift, move, and operate medical equipment
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Basic computer skills for electronic documentation
- Sensory acuity for patient monitoring and assessment
