Travel Med Surg RN - $2,321 per week

About the role

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Eagle River, WI. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience. Specialty: Med Surg; Discipline: RN; Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, nights; Employment Type: Travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
• Stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
• Easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements

• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience (1-2 years preferred)
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
