TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing assignment in Omaha, Nebraska. Start date: November 16, 2026; duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; 12‑hour night shifts; employment type: travel. Job ID #1520848.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and provide treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients’ families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑operative patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications; report any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; patient moving/lifting may require up to 50 pounds.
• Work in a fast‑paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements

• Active RN license (implied).
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• Ability to bend, lean, and stoop.
• Capable of lifting 20 lb routinely and up to 50 lb for patient handling.
• Adept at working in fast‑paced, high‑acuity settings.
• Strong communication and patient‑education skills.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
