Travel Med Surg RN - $2,289 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for a travel nursing opportunity in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. This position involves providing bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients, in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician.

Requirements

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS and PALS certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to work with patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Schedule

• 13-week duration.
• 36 hours per week.
• 12-hour rotating shifts.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week, with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
