About the role

Travel Med/Surg – Infectious Disease RN position with a patient ratio of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients). Patient population includes Infectious Disease, isolation, COVID, MRSA, C. diff, and general Med/Surg. Drips include Heparin and standard Med/Surg IV medications; no cardiac drips. Remote telemetry is used, but RN does not need to interpret strips. Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow, managed by Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Work 36 hours per week on 12-hour shifts (days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Work every other weekend (days: Sat/Sun; nights: Fri/Sat/Sun)
• Float to Med/Surg units as first priority; may float to Telemetry within skill set
• Adhere to block scheduling if unit needs can be met
• Be prepared for call/low census scenarios, which may result in being called off depending on contract/unit needs

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Travel experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Valid, unexpired driver’s license (copy required with submission)
• Wear royal blue scrubs

Orientation

• 1 day EPIC training
• 1 day unit orientation with preceptor
• Independent by Day 3
