Travel Med Surg RN - $2,194 per week

About the role

ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13‑week contract in Oakland, Maryland. The position starts 09/21/2026, requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM) with every other weekend worked. The nurse will work on a 32‑bed acute care medical‑surgical unit currently operating at 20 beds due to staffing levels, alongside LPNs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with common diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, and post‑operative surgical care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Epic for patient documentation and charting.
• Participate in unit orientation and training programs.
• Assist in performing nursing tasks and procedures as needed, including managing equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP.

Requirements

• Valid RN license.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• ACLS and PALS are recommended but not mandatory.

Qualifications

Strong background in medical‑surgical nursing is essential due to the unit's diverse patient population.

Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EHR for documentation and charting.
• Experience managing CPAP and BiPAP equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Competent in providing care for COPD, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, and post‑operative patients.
