Join a 36‑bed surgical unit with 1:6 staffing within a 500‑bed teaching facility that serves as a regional referral center for comprehensive medical services. The MedSurg unit emphasizes compassionate care combined with top‑notch technology and innovative care teams. Located in Salem, Virginia, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the area offers two zoos, numerous parks, the Natural Bridge of Virginia, the Salem Science Museum and Planetarium, Grandin Theater, the Roanoke Symphony, and easy access to the Appalachian Trail and Salem Bike Routes for outdoor recreation.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with Medical‑Surgical experience: minimum 2 years
• Active RN license (compact accepted; copy required)
• BLS certification
• SSN and date of birth required
• No more than 90 days of employment gap in the past year
• Must pass ECG testing during onboarding

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record
• Experience caring for post‑operative patients
• Competent with dressing changes, wound care, and drain management

Pay

Pay rate: $1,905.00 – $2,003.00 per week (based on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined; pay package subject to confirmation.
