Travel Med Surg Oncology RN - $1,995 per week

About the role

TotalMed is seeking a Medical Surgical RN for an immediate travel nurse opening in Bridgeport, WV. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient
• Educate patients on surgical procedures
• Participate in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician

Requirements

• BLS certification
• 1-2 years recent acute care experience
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty
• Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; moving or lifting patients may require lifting up to 50 pounds at times
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment

Schedule

16-week duration, 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.
