About the Role
Provide skilled nursing care to residents in a long-term-care facility setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess resident health and develop individualized care plans
- Implement care plans, administer medications and treatments
- Supervise nursing staff and ensure quality, resident-centered care
- Educate residents and families on health management
- Document all care activities accurately and timely
- Respond to medical emergencies and changes in resident condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Key Duties
- Monitor patient conditions and update care plans as needed
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications
- Supervise and support nursing staff
- Educate residents and families on care and health topics
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- At least one year of recent long-term-care experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical ability to perform nursing tasks (e.g., lifting, standing)
- Proficiency with PC and electronic documentation systems
Preferred Certifications
- ACLS certification
- Other facility-specific certifications
