About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, focusing on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized care plan.
  • Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses, collaborating effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize education for patients and families.
  • Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
  • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Support team building activities and ensure a positive atmosphere on the unit.
  • Assume charge responsibilities following the orientation period.
  • Engage in professional growth and development through continuing education.

Requirements

  • BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
  • ACLS certification required for specific units prior to first shift.
  • Minimum two years of bedside clinical experience preferred.

Pay & Schedule

This position is for the Night Shift, 3x12.0 hours weekly. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
