Overview
Laboratory Technologist (Medical Technologist) – Portland, Oregon, United States.
Start Date: 08/10/2026
Assignment Type: 7-week travel assignment in a hospital laboratory setting.
Weekly Pay Range: $2,030–$2,170 per week
Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts (5x8)
Contract Duration: 7 weeks
Responsibilities
- Perform chemical, microscopic, and microbiological test assays to obtain results for use in diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare specimens and manage storing and labeling; operate manual and automatic equipment to prepare specimens and perform analytical tests
- Conduct procedures within the scope defined by state licensure regulations, avoiding tasks that are restricted to licensed clinical laboratory scientists
- Document results, maintain quality control, and communicate findings clearly for clinical interpretation
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and SOPs to ensure accurate, reliable laboratory operations
Requirements
- Experience performing chemical, microscopic, and microbiological assays in a clinical laboratory setting
- Proficiency with manual and automatic equipment used to prepare specimens and conduct analytical tests
- Ability to supervise phlebotomists and provide guidance to staff as needed
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality control standards
- Ability to work in a hospital laboratory environment during daytime hours
