Responsibilities

• Administer blood and blood products
• Perform amnioinfusion
• Manage antepartum conditions
• Provide anticoagulation therapy and antihypertensive treatment
• Assist with seizure disorders and asthma management
• Support baby-friendly protocols and breastfeeding support
• Train parents on car seat education and infant identification
• Monitor and manage various medical conditions such as diabetes, cardiac disease, and HIV
• Perform procedures like cesarean sections, epidurals, and episiotomies
• Teach circumcision care and provide discharge teaching to parents
• Manage neonatal resuscitation and newborn assessments
• Implement isolation precautions and PPE
• Administer vaccines and perform phototherapy
• Manage postpartum hemorrhage and monitor central lines
• Provide pain assessment and management
• Monitor and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Perform neonatal abstinence syndrome management
• Assist with multiple births and premature ruptures of membranes
• Manage labor and delivery, including VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)
• Ensure proper wound assessment and care
• Administer magnesium sulfate therapy and terbutaline
• Use external fetal monitoring and internal fetal monitoring
• Use infusion pumps and PCA (Patient-Controlled Analgesia)
• Use ultrasound equipment for fetal monitoring
• Manage epidural anesthesia and oxytocin
• Perform fundus, lochia, and perineum care
• Administer intravenous medications and fluids
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and catheter insertions
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and assist with vaginal and forceps/vacuum extractions
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and provide radiant warming
