About the role
Immediate opening for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse in Coupeville, WA. Assignment length: 13 weeks with night shifts (3x 12-hour shifts, 19:00 - 07:00).
Pay
$2,192.44 to $2,386.84 weekly (includes taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements).
Schedule
- 3x 12-hour night shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00)
- Patient ratios: 2 patients per nurse on nights, 2 patients per nurse on weekends

- Administration of blood & blood products
- Amnioinfusion
- Antepartum care
- Administration of antihypertensives
- APGAR scoring
- Assist with vaginal delivery
- Bladder distension management
- Cesarean section assistance and recovery
- Drawing venous blood
- Epidural anesthesia management
- Foley catheter insertion and management
- Fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- ID/security banding and infant identification
- Newborn care ("Baby Nurse" duties, including catching babies)
- Collecting cord samples and cord care
- Couplet care (mother-baby dyad)
- Discharge teaching to parents
- Isolation precautions and PPE usage
- Labor & delivery support
- Level I nursery care
- Low-risk pregnancy management
- Magnesium sulfate therapy
- Multiple births management
- Newborn assessment and hypoglycemia management
- Non-stress tests (NST) and oxytocin challenge tests (OCT)
- Pain assessment and management
- Pitocin (oxytocin) administration
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension care
- Prostaglandin administration
- Radiant warmers and thermoregulation
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus evaluation
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Thermoregulation for newborns
- Use of infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
- Vaccine administration
- Vaginal delivery support
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
- Active WA state license or compact license
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
- Charting experience with Meditech
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
