Pay
$2,619 to $2,812 weekly, including taxable wages and tax-free expense reimbursements.
Schedule
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 3x 12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:00)
- Start date: 08/31/2026
- Patient ratios: 2 patients per nurse on nights; 2 patients on weekends
Responsibilities & Skills
- Amnioinfusion
- Administration of antihypertensives and medications such as Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
- Epidural anesthesia management
- Hemorrhage and shock management, including postpartum hemorrhage
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Pain assessment and management
- APGAR scoring
- Assist with sterile speculum exams (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction
- Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”) duties
- Breastfeeding and lactation support
- Cesarean section assistance
- Cord care
- Couplet care
- Discharge teaching to parents
- Episiotomy and incisional care
- Foley catheter insertion and management
- Fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- Infant identification and security banding
- LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) care
- Newborn assessment, including hypoglycemia management
- Non-Stress Tests (NST)
- Pregnancy-induced hypertension management
- Radiant warmers and thermoregulation
- Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Sterile vaginal exams
- Teaching circumcision care to parents
- Triage of obstetrical patients
- Use of External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and Internal Fetal Monitoring
- Use of infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
- Use of Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC) placement and calibration
- Vaginal delivery assistance
- Wound assessment and care
Requirements
- 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
- Travel experience required
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Charting experience with Excellian (EPIC system)
- Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner, FHM
