Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist - $3,220 per week
About the role
TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a position in Kansas City, Kansas. The role involves operating fluoroscopic equipment and assisting physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. IR Techs are also responsible for preparing and observing patients undergoing the procedure and reporting any abnormal activity.
Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests, and explain procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
- Absorb all diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Maintain thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques on patient and operator exposure to ensure adequate safeguards are maintained
- Show knowledge of physiology and anatomy to interpret examination requests accurately
- Operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (R) National Certification and state-specific licensing when required
- Vascular Interventional certificate preferred
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- ARRT (VI)
- BLS
- 3 Years of experience

Skills
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Ability to operate intravenous (I.V.) and dye injector pumps. Understanding of radiation protection standards, devices, and techniques. Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to interpret examination requests accurately. Familiarity with the McKesson PACS system.
Benefits
The pay package is based on 10 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
