About the role
An interventional radiology tech is a specialized radiologic technologist who helps physicians with minimally invasive procedures that guide instruments through a patient's blood vessels and organs. Some procedures involving IR techs include: angioplasty, biopsies.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with minimally invasive procedures
- Guide instruments through a patient's blood vessels and organs
- Support physicians during angioplasty and biopsy procedures
Requirements
- Current certification as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program
- Current certification as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Current CPR certification
Skills
- Proficient in operating imaging equipment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail
