Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit provides high acuity care for a range of patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes through assessment, planning, and implementation of patient care plans.

Responsibilities

• Manage up to 6 patients, typically maintaining a ratio of 1:5
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips; RN must be able to read and act on information from tele techs
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetolol, Nitro, and Heparin
• Provide care for chest pain, r/o MI, CHF, arrhythmias, and other intermediate care patients
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists available in-house 24/7

Requirements

• Current RN license required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with telemetry and titrating intravenous medications

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts, with weekends scheduled as required
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract duration
