Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position in the Illinois area. Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
Valid Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
Active BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certifications
At least 2 years of ICU RN experience
Current active license
Willingness to produce a negative drug screen
Last four digits of SSN
Middle initial
Unit Details
Adult ICU with 12 beds, average census 11, including inpatient dialysis
Nurse to patient ratio 1:2-3
Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, Sepsis, MI, DKA, COVID-19
Required to titrate drips such as paralytics, sedatives, cardizem, amio, etc.
Staffing and Operations
Charge nurse and administrative supervisor on-site 24/7
Hospitalist present 22/7 with on-call coverage during gaps
Intensivist available 24/7
No nurse aides or patient care techs on unit
ICU equipped with vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow devices managed mainly by RNs
Telomonitor techs monitor ICU and tele patients
Cardiogram interpretation preferred
Floats
RNs may float to Med Surg if needed.
Dress Code
Navy blue scrub uniform.
