Travel ICU Registered Nurse - $1,905 per week
About the Role
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care in a mixed ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. The ICU RN will deliver patient care utilizing advanced skills and procedures, including ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, and complex hemodynamics.
The position requires working nights with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays. The ICU team utilizes bedside shift reports on every patient transfer, and staff are trained in managing neuro procedures such as aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia. Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to the emergency department or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support patient care needs.
Candidates interested in becoming specialized Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU nurses are encouraged, as training opportunities are available.
Schedule
- 13 weeks duration
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend and holidays required
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care in a mixed ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
- Manage ventilated patients and interpret telemetry
- Perform advanced procedures such as CRRT and advanced hemodynamics
- Utilize Meditech documentation system
- Conduct bedside shift reports on every patient transfer
- Support patient care needs in the emergency department or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed
Requirements
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- 36 months of RN experience with at least one year of ICU experience
- Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients and manage ventilated patients
- Proficiency in telemetry reading
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Comfort with advanced procedures such as CRRT and advanced hemodynamics
