Responsibilities

• Receive specimens from surgery
• Accession specimens into laboratory information systems
• Collect tissue blocks from pathology staff
• Process tissue, embed, cut, and stain slides as part of routine histology procedures
• Work two major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day) and one minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve)

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in a pathology laboratory setting
• Successful completion of a formal histology technologist training program or an Associate's degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences
• Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in histology (HT/HLT)

Qualifications

• Experience with cytology and immunohistochemistry (IHC)
• Knowledge of Cerner accessioning system
• Prior experience with tissue processing, embedding, and slide staining

Pay

Pay package is based on 8‑hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.

Schedule

• Evenings: 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Monday through Friday
• Minimum 40 hours per week
