About the role

American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a position in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a general ultrasound unit with a strong focus on liver/kidney transplant patients.
  • Perform high volume of venous doppler (arms and legs), liver biopsies, and neck/thyroid FNA procedures.
  • Provide care to a liver and kidney transplant patient population using Philips and Siemens ultrasound equipment.
  • Chart using Cerner.
  • Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts).
  • Be available for call 1 day per week and every 4th or 5th weekend (Saturday 7 AM to Sunday 7 AM and Sunday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM).
  • Float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of ultrasound experience.
  • Current BLS and RDMS-AB certification.
  • Strong proficiency in liver and kidney doppler.
  • Cerner charting experience required.
  • Two supervisor references required.
  • SSN and DOB required.
  • Licenses required if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Indiana residents are considered local candidates and may be accepted at a modified pay package.
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler.
  • Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility.
  • Out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, effective 2/24/26.
  • Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved.
  • Candidates are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
  • AHA and RQI BLS certifications are accepted and must be current.

Pay

Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
