About the role
American Traveler is seeking a travel Ultrasound Technologist for a position in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Work in a general ultrasound unit with a strong focus on liver/kidney transplant patients.
- Perform high volume of venous doppler (arms and legs), liver biopsies, and neck/thyroid FNA procedures.
- Provide care to a liver and kidney transplant patient population using Philips and Siemens ultrasound equipment.
- Chart using Cerner.
- Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts).
- Be available for call 1 day per week and every 4th or 5th weekend (Saturday 7 AM to Sunday 7 AM and Sunday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM).
- Float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of ultrasound experience.
- Current BLS and RDMS-AB certification.
- Strong proficiency in liver and kidney doppler.
- Cerner charting experience required.
- Two supervisor references required.
- SSN and DOB required.
- Licenses required if applicable.
Qualifications
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and may be accepted at a modified pay package.
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler.
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility.
- Out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break, effective 2/24/26.
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved.
- Candidates are expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
- AHA and RQI BLS certifications are accepted and must be current.

Pay
Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
