About the Role
The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients in a high-paced environment. The ER is staffed with a total of 8 beds, featuring a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 during peak times and potentially 1:4 during other hours. The average daily census in our ER is around 29 patients, requiring quick assessments and interventions. The nurse will not be required to float to other departments and seldom needs to be on call unless explicitly requested.
Schedule: 12-hour evening shifts from 3 PM to 3 AM, including weekends as scheduled.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room.
- Administer medications via Pyxis medication system.
- Collaborate with providers, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, available from 10 AM to 8 PM daily.
- Participate in the management of acute patient conditions and perform health assessments.
Requirements
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- NIHSS and PALS certifications preferred.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license is mandatory for submissions.
