TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for the Emergency Department in Cookeville, Tennessee. The assignment is 13 weeks, 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. The role involves working with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care in a fast‑paced ER environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions.
• Perform minor medical operations.
• Advise patients and families on illnesses or injuries.
• Plan long‑term care needs.
• Document medical history and check for allergies.
• Obtain patient vital signs.
• Monitor patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Clean and bandage wounds.
• Provide IV therapy.
• Maintain supplies and medical equipment.
• Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, and stoop.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; moving/lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Additional certifications may be required before assignment.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
