About the role

Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) position in Stayton, Oregon. This role involves providing acute patient care in a Level 4 trauma center with an expanding ED that treats approximately 60 patients daily. The RN will work night shifts in a fast-paced environment handling a wide variety of cases, including traumas, medical, surgical, OB, and more.

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
  • Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Duration: 13 weeks, starting 08/10/2026
  • Holiday and every other weekend shifts required
  • No self-scheduling; managed by the department

Responsibilities

  • Manage a broad range of diagnoses and treatments, including trauma, burns, car accidents, OB, and general surgical cases
  • Work with hospital-based imaging and laboratory services
  • Perform IV starts and troubleshoot respiratory therapy (RT) equipment
  • Collaborate with a clinical team including 24-hour physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, CNAs, techs, and monitor techs
  • Utilize 24/7 respiratory therapy staff for support, including handling EKGs and ABGs
  • Patient ratios: 1:4-5 for non-acute cases, 2:1 for resuscitations depending on acuity
  • Orientation involves two shifts with RN supervision during the initial week
  • Floating to other units is not required but may be available if experienced and willing

Requirements

  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC certifications (required and interchangeable)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (preferred but not required)
  • 2+ years of experience in emergency or similar acute care setting (preferred)
  • Previous travel experience
  • Proper licensure for employment in Oregon (no specific license restrictions)

Facility Details

  • Level 4 trauma center with an expanding emergency department
  • On-site X-ray and CT imaging, with transport provided by tech staff for unstable patients
  • Phlebotomy available as a resource
  • No specific dress code; solid or print scrubs acceptable

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
