Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Tupelo, Mississippi. The role involves providing acute care in a high-volume, Level 2 trauma, teaching facility with a focus on trauma, cardiac, stroke, COPD, asthma, RSV, abdominal pain, and other critical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage critical care drips, start IVs, and handle ventilator management
- Insert and manage arterial lines and central lines
- Perform lab draws, blood cultures, intubations, and EKG interpretation
- Float to units within your competencies as required
- Work with a patient ratio of 1:4, or 1:6 if holds are waiting for inpatient beds
- Work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
- Pass an EKG/Dysrhythmia competency verification
Requirements
- Current Mississippi RN license
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
- Prior travel nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Fingerprinting process must begin within 48 hours of offer acceptance
- Must not have worked perm or per diem for the healthcare provider within the last 12 months
- Must be available to work 12/24 or 12/25 and 12/31 or 1/1
- Full availability and flexibility with scheduling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Level 2 trauma centers
- Experience in large hospitals (400+ beds)
- Previous critical care roles
Additional Information
- Scrubs are navy blue (not provided)
- No on-call required
- EMR systems used: Wellsoft and SCM
- No block scheduling or self-scheduling
Schedule
- 12-hour evening shifts
- Minimum of 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks, starting 09/09/2026
