Travel Emergency Room RN - $2,125 per week

About the role

Travel ER RN's are needed for a 13 week assignment to start in June in a Hospital located in West Virginia. Shifts consist of 11am-11pm for 36 hours per week. There is no floating. Holidays - Rotate with core staff.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 33-bed emergency department with a triage area and a separate fast-track open from 11a-11p.
• Assist with patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing procedures as necessary.
• Collaborate with a scrub color of royal blue, telemetry, and a 24/7 respiratory therapy team.
• Interact with a hospitalist or intensivist team consisting of 3 physicians on staff during 11a-11p shifts, and additional support from NPs and PAs.
• Manage an IV team until 10pm and a pharmacy team 24/7.
• Participate in floor-specific orientation for up to three shifts.
• Handle a 15% pediatric population and manage major trauma patients who are stabilized and transferred to a sister hospital.
• Admit 18% of patients and ensure patients average a 2hr 45min stay in the ER.

Requirements

• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• PALS certification is preferred.
• Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4 in the general ER, 1:5 in a 5-bed lower acuity area, and 1:6 in the fast track.
• Experience in an emergency department setting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state of West Virginia.
• At least one year of acute care experience preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) such as EPIC.

Pay

Exact pay package may vary based on guaranteed hours, distance being traveled, and customizations available for travelers. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
