About the role
Cross Country Nurses is seeking a qualified Emergency Room nurse to provide compassionate and efficient patient care during night shifts at a 22-bed emergency department. This position requires a professional approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing situations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care in a 22-bed emergency department
- Perform procedures including IV insertions, cardiac monitoring, central line placements, cardioversion, and protocols for stroke and sepsis
- Float to the organization’s FSED (approximately 15 minutes away) as required
- Collaborate with a team of approximately 50 staff members, including nurses, technicians, and support staff
Requirements
- Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications
- Relevant nursing degree
- Active Virginia state nursing license
- Minimum of 1 year of emergency room nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Trauma experience
- TNCC certification
- Meditech electronic medical record experience
Unit Details
- 22-bed emergency department
- Equipment includes Phillips & GE monitors and Level 1 Rapid Infuser
- Night shifts, 12 hours each, totaling 36 hours per week
