TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an Emergency Department position in Watonga, Oklahoma. This is a 26‑week travel assignment with a schedule of 36 hours per week, 12‑hour night shifts. The role requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience. As an ER Travel Nurse, you will work with a diverse team to evaluate, triage, and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions, caring for patients in a fast‑paced, urgent and emergency environment. Responsibilities include performing minor medical operations, advising patients and families on illnesses or injuries, planning long‑term care needs, documenting medical history, checking for allergies, obtaining vital signs, and monitoring patients’ emotional and physical well‑being.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic bedside care
- Clean and bandage wounds
- Provide IV therapy
- Maintain supplies and medical equipment
- Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies
Requirements
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- At least 1 year of recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to easily lift 20 pounds; patient lifting may require up to 50 pounds
- Strong stress‑coping skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
- Additional certifications may be required before assignment start
