Job Summary

The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position is available in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing critical nursing care in a busy emergency department with a focus on assessment, medication administration, wound care, and other standard emergency procedures.

Job Details

• Shift: Days, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must have current EMS certification, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in emergency nursing.
• A valid license in the state of Texas is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be prioritized.
• More than two years of emergency department experience.
• Critical Incident Preparedness (CPI).

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments, document patient information, administer medications, perform wound care, splinting, IV management, urine collection, lab draws, and care for patients with ESI (Emergency Severity Index) levels 5 through 1.

Schedule

12-hour days shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.

Additional Information

• Attend mandatory shift huddles at 7am and 7pm unless providing critical care at that time.
• EMTALA training is mandatory.
• The unit uses Meditech electronic medical records.
• Scrub color preferred is royal blue; team jerseys for team spirit are encouraged.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
