Job Details

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Job Requirements

  • Current nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to start.
  • BLS certification (AHA).
  • ACLS certification (AHA).
  • PALS certification (AHA).
  • TNCC certification, renewed every 4 years.
  • Completed Ascension Specialty Exam prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years thereafter with minimum 80% passing score.
  • Completed Ascension Cerner Test-Out and other Ascension onboarding requirements.
  • Completed required health screenings and vaccinations including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, Fit Test, and TB screening.
  • Completed Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics.
  • Completed CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion prior to start and on-site portion at orientation.
  • Professional references and background checks as per Ascension requirements.

Schedule Information

  • Contract length is 13 weeks.

Additional Details

  • Ascension Resume required for submission.
  • Signed Assignment Agreement required for onboarding.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation must be completed.
  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding done onsite.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules required.
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check includes Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender check.
  • Ascension EPLS run within 90 days of start and rerun if break in service >90 days.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
  • Ascension Education Verification within 90 days of start.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment and Employment Verification required and updated as specified.
  • Optional Ascension Unit Specific Checklist to be uploaded by unit leader within a week.
  • Hiring Manager Evaluation and Name Change Document optional.
  • Ascension Badge Photo required.
