About the Role

This is a 13-week travel contract position for a CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) providing care for adult and geriatric patients immediately post-operative from cardiac surgery, including CABG and valve procedures. The role involves intensive monitoring and management of patients on ventilators and other advanced interventions.

Schedule

  • 3x12-hour day shifts (07:30 to 20:00)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients
  • Manage ventilation and respiratory therapy
  • Utilize advanced monitoring techniques (Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella)
  • Perform artery management (fem stop, TR bands)
  • Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 in CVICU and 1:3 if floated to IMC

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in CVICU (2+ years preferred for first-time travelers)
  • Current RN license from Maryland or Compact State
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • NIH certification (preferred)
  • Previous charge nurse experience (preferred)
