Requirements
- Active RN License
- Degree from accredited nursing program
- BLS & ACLS Certifications
- Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care CVICU setting
Responsibilities
- Administers medications
- Checks vital signs
- Alerts doctors of any major changes in the patient’s condition
- Liaises between doctors and patients
- Ensures patients recover comfortably
- Care for patients following open-heart surgery
- Treatment and care of heart transplant patients
- Educates patient’s family on ongoing needs and care
