Travel CVICU Registered Nurse - $2,391 per week

About the role

The CVICU is a mixed acuity unit that provides care for step-down and ICU status patients. Nurses are responsible for monitoring and administering care to patients with various cardiac conditions, especially those recovering from surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to 1:1 fresh hearts and devices, 1:2 ICU status patients, and 1:3 step-down status patients.
• Administer and titrate various medications and drips including but not limited to Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, and Levophed.
• Maintain and monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and perform hemodynamic monitoring.
• Handle acute MI patients and pre/post catheterization care.
• Use proficiency in handling arterial lines.

Requirements

• Must hold active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 6 hours post-op care for open heart surgery patients.
• Experience with CRRT, temporary pacemakers, post-permanent pacemaker care, and chest tube management.
• Proficiency in managing ventilator-dependent patients and performing hemodynamic monitoring.
• Experience with arterial lines.

Pay & Schedule

The pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
