About the role

Access Healthcare is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a position in Boston, Massachusetts. This role operates CT equipment under general supervision and following established procedures to acquire images for physician diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. The technologist will float among radiology clinics and divisions associated with BWH as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment (e.g., CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, patient monitoring devices) to obtain diagnostic images according to departmental protocol, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, and use of protective shielding.
• Selects proper imaging factors and images designated portions of the body.
• Explains exams to patients, considering physical and emotional needs, while maintaining ethical standards such as patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Maintains effective working relations and communication with departmental and hospital personnel.
• Calibrates and verifies equipment operation daily; reports malfunctions and arranges repairs as needed.
• Executes paperwork and Radiology Information System functions (e.g., scheduling exams, completing exams, transferring images to PACS).
• Performs venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, following hospital and departmental policies.
• Attends staff meetings and in-services; maintains CEUs per Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. requirements.
• May oversee and instruct personnel and students (e.g., medical radiography, CT, nuclear medicine) within the department.
• Prepares equipment room and supplies for patient exams; stocks supplies as needed.
• Participates in research programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects (e.g., cost containment).
• Assumes on-call coverage responsibilities and remains flexible for shift coverage and overtime as needed.
• Rotates within the department, divisions, and off-site clinics by shifts as required; promotes cooperation and harmony.
• Transports and transfers patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.
• Uses independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure during patient exams.
• Performs additional duties as directed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license.
• Registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, with at least one year in CT.
• Level 1 trauma and Siemens experience required.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients under physical or emotional stress.
• Analytical abilities to acquire and utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
