Travel CT Technologist - $2,981 per week

Access Healthcare is seeking a travel CT Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Boston, Massachusetts. This role operates CT equipment under general supervision to acquire diagnostic images for physician use, with a requirement to float among radiology clinics and divisions associated with BWH as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment (e.g., CT scanner, Power Injector, Laser Printer, patient monitoring devices) to obtain diagnostic images following departmental protocols, ensuring proper patient preparation, positioning, and shielding.
• Select appropriate imaging factors and image designated body portions.
• Explain exams to patients, addressing physical and emotional needs while maintaining ethical standards (confidentiality, professional conduct).
• Maintain effective communication and working relations with departmental and hospital personnel.
• Calibrate and verify equipment operation daily; report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
• Complete necessary paperwork and Radiology Information System functions (e.g., schedule exams, transfer images to PACS).
• Perform venipuncture for contrast administration under radiologist direction, adhering to hospital and departmental policies.
• Attend staff meetings, in-services, and maintain CEUs per Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. requirements.
• Oversee and instruct personnel and technology students (e.g., medical radiography, CT, nuclear medicine) within the department.
• Prepare equipment rooms and supplies for patient exams; restock as needed.
• Participate in research programs, quality assurance, and improvement projects (e.g., cost containment).
• Assume on-call coverage responsibilities and remain flexible for shift coverage and overtime as needed.
• Rotate within the department, divisions, and off-site clinics by shifts as required.
• Transport and transfer patients using established procedures according to departmental guidelines.
• Use independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative under pressure during patient exams.
• Perform additional duties as directed.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Current Massachusetts State Radiologic and CT Technologist license.
• Registered in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, with at least one year in CT.
• Level 1 trauma and Siemens experience required.
• Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients under physical or emotional stress.
• Analytical abilities to acquire and utilize knowledge of imaging processes, techniques, procedures, and cross-sectional anatomy.

Pay

Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
