Travel Consultant

About the role

A Travel Consultant at AAA sells international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel reservations. They share knowledge from personal experiences and education study trips, develop long-standing member relationships, and provide tailored recommendations to exceed member expectations. Consultants also cross-sell relevant products like the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft referrals. This role offers a career path to leadership opportunities based on proficiency in sales, customer service, and goal achievement.

Responsibilities

• Sell travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel bookings.
• Share expertise from personal travel experiences and education study trips.
• Build long-term relationships with members to drive referral and repeat business.
• Provide tailored recommendations to enhance trip experiences.
• Cross-sell products such as the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft protection services.
• Progress through evaluations to unlock leadership opportunities in management.

Requirements

• High school diploma (required).
• Pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening (required).
• At least 2 years of successful retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience in a goal-oriented environment (preferred).
• Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement.
• Completion of the Travel Consultant Trainee program, which may require travel for training.

Qualifications

• Passion for travel beyond a hobby or interest.
• Strong sales drive and goal-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency in navigating computers, multiple systems, web browsers, and Microsoft Office.
• Typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
• Comfort with paperwork and strong organizational skills.
