About the role

The Coating Laborer will apply coatings to a variety of materials, surfaces, and pipes, primarily working outdoors in industrial construction environments. The role involves assisting with industrial cleaning, job site cleanup and preparation, and other tasks with a safety-first mentality. Candidates must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions or in unconditioned buildings.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings to a variety of materials, surfaces, and pipes.
• Assist in industrial cleaning, job site cleanup, and preparation.
• Load and unload materials, clean, and shovel as needed.
• Assist in organizing inventory and equipment.
• Promote a safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying hazards, wearing correct PPE, and observing safety for oneself and others.
• Take care of company-owned or rented equipment.
• Actively champion a positive workplace and safety culture.
• Perform various other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in industrial painting and coatings.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days of starting.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. routinely.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.
• Ability to observe conditions and others as a safety attendant, staying alert while seated for long periods as needed.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to perform inspections of sites, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and report incidents, unsafe acts, or conditions immediately.
