About the Role

The Coating Laborer will apply coatings to a variety of materials, surfaces, and pipes in industrial construction environments. This role involves outdoor work in all weather conditions or in buildings without heating or air conditioning, with a strong emphasis on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Apply coatings to materials, surfaces, and pipes.
  • Assist in industrial cleaning, job site cleanup, and preparation.
  • Load and unload materials, clean, and shovel as needed.
  • Assist in organizing inventory and equipment.
  • Promote a safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying hazards, wearing correct PPE, and observing safety for oneself and others.
  • Take care of company-owned or rented equipment.
  • Actively champion a positive workplace and safety culture.
  • Perform various other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in industrial painting and coatings.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working understanding of safety principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to follow directions from managers and clarify responsibilities when needed.
  • Respect for self, co-workers, managers, company, contractors, and clients.
  • Adaptability in methods used to complete tasks.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile and learn new skills.
  • Ability to work independently and show up on time ready to work.

Physical Abilities

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs. routinely.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairways regularly throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to observe conditions and others as a safety attendant, staying alert while seated for long periods as needed.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform inspections of sites, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and report incidents, unsafe acts, or conditions immediately.

Training

Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10-hour training within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
