About the role

The ICU Cardiovascular (Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular) registered nurse (RN) position is based in Johnson City, New York. This role involves providing specialized critical care to cardiac and vascular patients, including those with conditions such as congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, and stroke. The RN will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, ensure compliance with all standards and regulations, and support the overall safety and recovery of patients in the ICU setting.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts, nights
• 36 hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized critical care to cardiac and vascular patients
• Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned
• Participate in clinical ladder programs and professional development
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system

Requirements

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• Six (6) months to three (3) years of nursing (RN) experience
• Experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, normothermia, stroke patients thrombectomy/TNK, ICU overflow)
• Skills in collaboration, communication (verbal & written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing, time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
• CCRN certification
• Relevant skills certification (e.g., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the home unit assigned
