About the role
Join a 32-bed Stepdown/Med Surg Tele unit caring for cardiac and medical patients in a collaborative, high-acuity environment.
- Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
- Floor nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6
- 13-week assignment with extension opportunities
- EPIC charting
- Flexible scheduling with block scheduling available
Responsibilities
- Monitor and care for cardiology, heart failure, post-cardiac surgery, and medical/hospitalist patients
- Manage cardiac monitoring and telemetry
- Titrate cardiac drips: Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Cardizem, Nicardipine, Lasix, Amiodarone, Dobutamine
- Operate CPAP, BiPAP, and High-Flow Nasal Cannula
- Care for tracheostomy and ventilator patients
- Float to other units as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Stepdown and Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- Recent EPIC experience
- Cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable titrating cardiac drips
