Travel Medical Acute Stepdown RN - $2,137 per week

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Escanaba, Michigan. Specialty: Stepdown; Discipline: RN; Start Date: 10/12/2026; Duration: 13 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, nights; Employment Type: Travel. The role is for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN, also known as a step‑down nurse, caring for patients who need close monitoring but are not unstable enough for ICU care.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
• Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; lift up to 20 pounds routinely, with occasional patient lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Cope with stress in a fast‑paced environment and relate to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Requirements

• ACLS certification
• BLS certification
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience (preferably 1‑2 years)
