The ambulatory care medical-surgical nurse is responsible for providing specialized wound, ostomy, and continence nursing care in an outpatient setting. This role involves collaborating with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and perform routine and complex treatments. The position requires a dedicated professional committed to delivering high-quality patient care and education.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient acute wound care, continence care, and ostomy care, plus 1 year of travel experience, and current certification in relevant clinical areas
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with complex wound management and ostomy care procedures, and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams

About the Role

The ambulatory care medical-surgical nurse is responsible for assessing patients' physical, psychological, and social needs, initiating and documenting care strategies, monitoring equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal protocols. May handle biomedical, pharmaceutical, hazardous, and universal wastes per regulatory standards.
