Job Summary

The Ambulatory Care Medical Surgical Specialist position in Bethel, Alaska involves delivering patient-centered care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Job Details

  • Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

  • Must have completed a nursing education program from an NLN-approved institution, with at least one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must hold an active, good standing license as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Alaska, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ambulatory care, medical-surgical settings, and proficiency with medical equipment such as EKG and cystoscopy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology required.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be flexible with work schedules, able to work independently within prescribed limits, and proficient in utilizing the nursing process for patient care.
  • Basic nursing skills, including EKG, medication administration, diagnostic test interpretation, and patient education, are required.
  • Able to analyze and interpret various documentation and communicate effectively with groups is essential.
  • Supervision of unit secretaries and patient care technicians in collaboration with the charge nurse will be part of the role.
  • Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations is mandatory for all travelers.

Pay Package

The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
