About the role

A Travel Consultant at AAA sells international and domestic travel packages, including cruises, land packages, travel itineraries, air, car, and hotel reservations. They share knowledge from personal experiences and education study trips, develop long-standing member relationships, and provide tailored trip recommendations. Consultants also cross-sell relevant products like the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identify theft referrals. Responsibilities

• Sell travel packages, including cruises, land packages, itineraries, air, car, and hotel bookings.
• Share expertise from personal travel experiences and education study trips.
• Build long-term relationships with members to drive referral and repeat business.
• Make tailored recommendations to exceed member expectations.
• Cross-sell products like the AAA Member Rewards Credit Card and identity theft referrals.
• Progress through evaluations for leadership opportunities in sales, customer service, and operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug screening.
• Preferred: 2+ years of retail sales, banking, or leisure travel agency experience in a goal-oriented environment.
• Availability to work most Saturdays and some evenings to support goal achievement.
• Completion of the Travel Consultant Trainee program, including travel for training.

Qualifications

• Passion for travel beyond a hobby or interest.
• Strong sales drive and goal-oriented mindset.
• Computer proficiency: ability to navigate multiple systems, web browsers, Microsoft Office, and type at least 30 WPM.
• Comfort with paperwork and strong organizational skills.
