Emergency Department Registered Nurse - 26-Week Contract Assignment
Duration: This is a 26-week contract position through the holidays. Schedule Orientation will be a full day on Monday and a full day on Tuesday, followed by shifts of 7 AM to 7 PM and 7 PM to 7 AM as part of the holiday rotation.

Job Description
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The ED RN assesses patient needs, identifies urgent or emergent care priorities, and collaborates to provide direct care, applying appropriate interventions, and evaluating patient progress. The ED RN demonstrates skill in managing life-threatening and routine emergency situations through various invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Responsibilities
Connect with patients and families during triage, identifying initial management priorities.
Conduct primary assessments of critical needs and document any major deviations from norms.
Identify necessary steps and interventions required for patient care.
Assess psychosocial needs, documenting and reporting any suspicions of domestic violence or abuse.
Encourage trust and cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes.
Teach and delegate tasks consistent with individual education and training.
Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures, making appropriate referrals for post-emergency care.
Assess patient/family learning styles and structure education sessions for maximized understanding.
Maintain communication with patients and families throughout the ED visit, including updating patient communication boards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Two years of experience in an Emergency Department as a registered professional nurse.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only) required.
Valid State Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure.

Contract & local rates may vary based on location and ARMStaffing Job ID #37530511. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
