About the Role

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting in Fayetteville, Georgia. This travel assignment requires 3+ years of experience and Georgia state licensure.

Assignment Overview

  • Start Date: October 12, 2026
  • Duration: 20 weeks
  • Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts, 8:00am–6:30pm, with weekend and holiday rotation required
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Openings: 1
  • No call requirements
  • May float within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Patient ratio: 1:10-15
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Returning employees or travelers must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before reapplying as a traveler

Setting & Patient Population

  • Acute care hospital unit treating diagnoses including arthritis, fractures, stroke, cancer, pneumonia, sepsis, respiratory failure, renal disease, heart failure, and colon surgery
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, community hospitals, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings
  • Experience treating cardiopulmonary, geriatric, neurologic, oncologic, and orthopedic patient populations preferred
  • Critical care experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of physical therapy experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • GA state license required (if applicable)
  • Preferred experience with Epic charting system

Clinical Skills

  • Skilled in AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive devices, body mechanics, pain assessment, sensory response, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring
  • Experience with equipment including bed alarms, gait belts, Hoyer lifts, walkers, sliding boards, and specialty beds
  • Skilled in documentation including assessment, evaluation, plan of care, reassessments, and discharge planning

Responsibilities

  • Patient assessment and treatment planning
  • Gait training and post-operative rehabilitation for orthopedic and neurologic conditions
  • Provides home exercise programs and patient/family education on safety and injury prevention
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at the time of submission
  • No RTO requests permitted during orientation week or after offer/onsite
