About the role
The incumbent assumes primary responsibility for accurate and concurrent data abstraction, evaluation, injury coding and analysis of trauma medical records into the Trauma Registry and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) database.
Demonstrates competency to independently perform tasks, to generate reports from the Trauma Registry for injury research, epidemiology, peer review and performance improvement activities within the Cabell Huntington Hospital Trauma Center.
Provides assistance to the Director of Trauma Services and the Trauma Medical Director.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and concurrent data abstraction
- Evaluation of trauma medical records
- Injury coding and analysis
- Generation of reports from the Trauma Registry
- Participation in injury research, epidemiology, peer review and performance improvement activities
- Assistance to the Director of Trauma Services and the Trauma Medical Director
Requirements
- Competency to independently perform tasks
- Experience with trauma registry operations
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
- Completion of relevant training programs in trauma registry operations

Schedule
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
