Trauma Registrar

Responsibilities

• Creates and maintains clinical and statistical data, AIS coding, ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM codes, and abstracts various data elements as required by the American College of Surgeons, the National Trauma Data Bank, Trauma Program, and DRMC Hospital.
• Provides data and statistics from the trauma registry to the Trauma Manager monthly and as requested.
• Affords support to the Trauma Manager with trauma outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current required;
• Basic typing skills, computer literacy, and experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point;
• 3 years clinical healthcare related experience;
• Experience with data analysis and report writing desired;
• Certification Examination for Trauma Registrars – CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registers) required within 6 months of hire.
